1. Foxconn strengths, they are the only company to manufacture the Apple iPad and one of only two companies to manufacture Apple iPhone’s. Foxconn is also one of the largest employers in the world, with about one million employees at the China plant alone. Foxconn also has low labor costs due to the manufacturing plant is located in China. Foxconn also has weaknesses, they are getting a bad reputation do to employees committing suicide, and a tragic explosion occurred due to unsafe working conditions. Foxconn does have opportunities, when tragedy struck, instead of trying to cover it up, they acted and increased their public image by, improving work conditions, increasing employees pay, and they sponsors employee outtings. Foxconn also has threats they are facing, due to them trying to increase employee morale they are not seeing much of a profit, if they have to increase their prices Apple may chose to use another company to manufacture it’s products. 2. If Foxconn hired me to advise them on their ethical decision making, and corporate social responsibility, I would say they approached the change in a good way by improving morale and by making the plant safer to …show more content…

Foxconn is running an exporting business that is based in China but serves developed nations such as the United States. Foxconn is facing unique challenges, and they have to keep a good public image, they will risk losing Apple’s and other American business contracts if they don’t continue to improve the working conditions for the employees. Foxconn will need mangers that have the “courage to take a stand” to improve environmental and working conditions, “acts with integrity” will tell the truth when something is unsafe, “seeks feedback” and “uses feedback” in order to get a better understanding of how the employees needs could be better met, and be “culturally adventurous” if Foxconn is looking to open more plants in other countries to try and keep their costs down.
