This is due to the blind trust of the characters. The main plot of both works is about animals of a farm living free from the oppression of humans. The leader of all these animals is a pig called Napoleon who is greedy, selfish and obnoxious. In the novel Animal Farm and Movie Animal Farm there were many differences and similarities. In the book Animal Farm Old Major died peacefully 3 days later, after giving his speech, yet in the movie he was shot by Farmer Jones during his speech. In the movie Jessie was the protagonist and was always around, and in the book she was hardly mentioned. In our contemporary civilization, literature plays an important and impacting role in our daily lives. Adapting to the different likes and tastes of modern day society, books and novels have different types and genres, all having in common the objective to please the reader and to convey morals and themes to the audience. In the 20th century were written 2 novels, The Chrysalids and Animal Farm, which will be compared and contrasted in the following essay, demonstrating the fact that they both target the general audience and not one particular group of readers. The comparison between both novels will be done via the contrast of specific literary elements such as the plot and the moods of the novels, the point of view of the narration and the style of the author, and also via the themes the authors try to convey to their audience through their literary work.

The beginning and the end of Animal Farm are very different. In the beginning all animals were equal the only difference between the pigs and the others were that one of them was the leader, Old Major. Old Major was a very old wise boar that had the best interest of the animals on the farm. He knew exactly how he wanted Animal Farm to carry on after he died and he was looked up to by everyone on the farm. After Old Major died the pigs were put in charge because they were the most educated of all. Napoleon and Snowball were the two that really took control and taught themselves how to read and write. They came up with the Seven Commandments that each animal shall follow.

In George Orwell’s novel Animal Farm, a major turning point in the novel was when Napoleon used his secret police force, his dogs, to exile Snowball. Snowball had previously been trying to improve the animal’s lives for the future by building a windmill. After Snowball was exiled, Napoleon became leader and everything immediately went amiss. Orwell stated that: "Somehow it seemed as though the farm had grown richer without making the animals themselves any richer- except, of course, for the pigs and the dogs" (p.86). In other words, no one was benefiting from the animal’s labours apart from the pigs and the dogs because the amount of authority the dogs and the pigs, especially Napoleon had, was corrupt. Frighteningly, if Snowball had been declared leader and Napoleon had been exiled, the result would have been no different because power is corrupt; education is power and intelligent leaders use propaganda to persuade innocent citizens.
Like all books, Animal Farm the book, is different from Animal Farm the movie. One of the reasons is the characters. Some of the characters that were in the book were not in the movie. Those were characters like Mr. Whymper, Clover, and Mollie. In the movie, Jessie, the dog that was only mentioned in the first chapter, replaced Clover. Jessie narrated the story, was the main character, and was in the story the entire time.

Animal Farm Book and Movie Animal Farm is a novel about farm animals running a farm and becoming self sufficient. It is a story with great detail and is a very good book to read because of it surprising events. If you have seen Animal Farm the movie, you would feel completely different.
