Memory is a concept that we, as humans, use everyday. From recognizing others to remembering answers, memory is a task that we need for nearly anything involving thought. However, general public knows little about the process or all the ways we really use memory. Most people should be able to know how memory and recognition memory works, how false memory works, how we can improve our memory, why we remember some data wrong, what affects memory and recognition memory, how memory and recognition memory affects us, and how memory can be unhelpful.

Children who make a vivid false memory when exposed to a typical false memory implantation paradigm test, such as being let do believe that they had taken a ride once in a hot air balloon (which never happened)., are more susceptible to false memories in a DRM test than children who do not make a vivid false memory (Hunt and Lars). Memory illusions can also be salutary. A high self-awareness can result in a greater confidence, which fuels success. It involves recognizing a situation as being familiar without being able to identify the source of the familiarity (Cohen). One can experience deja vu because a single feature or element of a new situation was also a part of a precious experience (Cohen).
Memory and recognition memory has helped people in other ways than just remembering where the keys last were. Technology with lots of memory recogniton helps users remember information (Budiu). Memory also helps us to learn, because human brains relate previous learned data with new information
However, recognition memory can be problematic in some ways. recognition memory can be a problem for teachers. An easy multiple-choice test resembles a forced-choice recognition test. If the multiple-choice test has familiar vocabulary words from the textbook or lecture in the correct answer, but not in the alternate false answers, then a student could do well on the test just by picking out the familiar words without really understanding the concept (Dewey). All the answers on the multiple-choice test must sound right to anyone who just skimmed rather than studying well. The correct response shouldn’t repeat the exact language of prior studies
