Fahrenheit 451 Clarisse Characteristics

Clarisse McClellan, the odd one in this dystopian society where being social has been deemed anti-social. She is different from most if not everyone else in the world. Different being she likes to enjoy life, she goes on walk, she enjoys her time and tries to learn something new every day where as everyone else tries to go about their business. You could assume from the first time we the reader were introduced to her that her life will play a pivotal role in the main character’s life. Guy Montag meets Clarisse and immediately notices that she’s different because of the way she acts, she attempts to learn from Montag and that astonishes him to the point where he is intrigued by this inquisitive character.
Clarisse had traits that most in her world had long lost, she was inquisitive, playful, experimental, perceptive, introspective and weird. In my opinion she was the type of person that a lot of people nowadays need in their life to make sure they make good judgment calls. As the story progresses you realize how much of an actual impact Clarisse makes in guy’s life she makes him a better person and opens his eyes metaphorically to see what he’s really been living and it’s a

She shows Montag more and more as the story progresses that certain things in things in this world are wrong. She asks Montag what he does with his free time. He can’t really answer the question because his been trapped in this fantasy where everything he does is only what’s necessary. She answers the question by saying “Do you want to know what I do with my time, I sit and think” to Montag this notion is a waste of time but as the story progresses he realizes that maybe the way Clarisse was living her life may have been right.
