These types of injuries are more prevalent in some high-risk populations, including children (3). Studies have shown that about 20% of elementary school children had a history of dental injuries. Facial trauma leading to fracture, displacement or loss of teeth can have a significant negative effect on the physiologic function, esthetic and psychological condition of children. About l6% of dental injuries led to tooth loss, causing changes in the child’s facial development as well as emotional and psychological disorders and other complications.
