In the book Dorothy must Die by Danielle Paige, the author develops a tone through the use of facetious language in her novel through the use of irony and absurdity. Amy is a normal girl from Kansas who has a boring life back home until she and her trailer get swooped up by a tornado. She then finds herself in Oz thinking it is a wonderful place because of the movie.
