Privacy? Is everything really keep private? In todays day of age it is very unlikely that your stuff is private on the internet. People are used to signing into facebook with no worries of weird people looking at their profile, but now anyone can see your profile unless people have it private. “This is the quickest and easiest way to check and see if your page is “protected.” Whatever you see here is what is visible to anyone and everyone on the Internet.” (Masterson). Either they are tracking you using the gps in peoples phones, or they are tracking us by how we explore the internet. Every website we visit, every ad you see. If people haven’t noticed yet that the ads on facebook you see are usually related to what you have searched on the internet. “Writing at AppSpot, he discovered that Facebook 's tracking cookies-which never expire, are only altered instead of deleted when a user logs out. This means that the tracking cookies still have your account number embedded in them and still know which user you are after you 've logged out” (Henry). Why do we let facebook do this? How can we stop them from doing this? We can’t, We agreed to all this when we signed up. The only way we can stop them from tracking us all the time is by deleting all the cookies that facebook has embedded onto our computer, But their is a more simple way that deletes it every time you are finished with facebook. “Facebook Disconnect for Chrome keeps Facebook from dropping those tracking cookies on your system in the first place, and disables them when you 're finished using Facebook-enabled services. Yes and no, If people know what they are doing on facebook then everything will be fine. If you think all your stuff is private on the internet, than you are already making a loser out of yourself. Facebook has become the biggest social media website in the world. “ This statistic shows a timeline with the worldwide number of active Facebook users from 2008 to 2015. As of the first quarter of 2015, Facebook had 1.44 billion monthly active users. In the third quarter of 2012, the number of active Facebook users had surpassed 1 billion” (Statista). People have said that facebook is just a fad and that it will eventually die off like every other social media site, but when a company gets this big they really do not have to worry about the competition. What will the company change next will they stay a social media site or move to something much more bigger. “Facebook is looking to do something even more revolutionary. Tell me what you think of the Facebook revolution--do you look forward to the social-networking future, or do you fear it? Is Facebook here to stay, or do you think we’ll move on to something else?”
