Everyone 's journey and perspective on life is totally different. My adventure started two years ago when I asked myself, “What would happen if I applied to be an exchange student in the U.S. high school?” To be honest, it wasn 't even in my plan to come to the United States to spend a school year because that meant my parents would have to incur quite an expense, but surprisingly my parents agreed. I was looking forward studying one year in American high school and live with a local American host family, which can spent a whole year to experience American culture and also improve my language. My journey began two year ago, I underwent culture shock and i still remember stories that happened at the beginning of school year. At first, I became the volleyball manager. I like this sport and really wanted to play with them and have some close friends who have this same hobby. At first, I thought they were friendly. One week passed, two weeks passed. Sometimes I saw members of the team in the hallway, but they never said, “Hi” to me which made me feel so eccentric ,and during volleyball practices they treated me like I was invisible, although I helped them to set balls, helped them picked up balls, kept scores etc. I felt so depressed that I did a lot of things for them without any appreciation.I wondered whether all exchange students experienced the …show more content…

They feel the same about them, their enthusiastic personalities, their styles of dressing, their ways of talking, I can 't change our status ascribed, however, I can change myself. The only way I can do that is to be more American, do what American teens do, talk about clothes, songs, and how to spend the weekend without any talking about studies.
