At this time I am attempting to complete another sap appeal for the fall term, I do realize that this is my second appeal. Past appeals were approved due to my medical issues and caring for a spouse who had surgery in June, I did have an agreement to pass math with a grade of B, however, I did not receive an B, my grade in the class was a C. Although I did not meet the grade requirement, I did the best that I could on my own being as though my GPA was extremely low, my grade improvement did not impact my GPA they way it needed to. Moreover, I had to repeat the classes in the summer term, I would like to also add that I am only taking two classes at a time, so I believe that only taking a few classes did not have a major impact on my GPA because
I would like to make a clarification regarding my GPA difference on my Bachelor’s Degree versus my Master’s Degree in Business Administration. When I was pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree, I was very young and naïve to understand the importance of the GPA for additional education in the future. Once I matured, I decided to forge ahead academically and pursue a Master’s Degree. Although the evening program was for two years, I could complete it in 18 months with a GPA of 3.71 due to my educational commitment and the continual desire to further my education, which will continue throughout the remainder of my scholastic career. Thank you for your consideration.
I responded to George Washington School and met with Officer Carl Savoy in his Officer. Officer Savoy had Mr. Lanier to the School Resource Officer’s Office. Tavon Lanier arrived at which time I identified myself and the purpose of my visit (runaway case). I showed Tavon my credential and showed him the RIPP Assessment form I was utilizing as a guide for my questions. Mr. Lanier reviewed the form and Mr.
In today’s technological era anyone and everyone can and will become an author of some sort, thanks to the contributions on many platforms such as: posting articles on the World Wide Web, posting/responding on social media and countless blogs and so forth. It is safe to say that there is an overabundance of ways to disseminate information across the masses. The overuse of information can and will lead to some type of misinformation and representation of facts due to fallacious. In the academic community it is vital to be able to critically evaluate information that has been published by determining if the information has been successfully argued by utilizing the three modes of persuasion: Ethos, Pathos and Logos. When evaluating chapter three “Of Mr. Booker T. Washington and Others, by W.E.B. Du Bois is assumed to be successful based on ethos, pathos and logos exhibited in the article. Before assessing the content published by W.E.B. Du Bois, it is vital to evaluate Du Bois personally.
You couldn't make our meeting this week. You had to attend the Career Fair on Wednesday. However, I have seen you working on your assignments. Keep working on your classes. My name is Kaha Salad and I am appealing my Satisfactory Academic Progress suspension. Autumn semester of 2013 was a difficult time for me, I was going through many different changes in my life and I just didn’t know how to adapt. I experienced a personal event in the summer of 2013 that made my life change forever. My Grandmother Khadija died, she was the light of my family’s lives. My mother was immensely affected by her death, she went into a state of depression and she then stopped working. I took it upon myself to help out my grieving mother and get a job to help pay with the bills that was piling up. I began working
2.32. The number that looked me in the eyes my first quarter of Junior year and told me I was a failure. 2.32. The number that causes a chill to go down my spine. Asking to go to the bathroom during class so I could make sure that I read this right. Could it have been a mistake? I'm sure I got more B's than this. 2.32. I had chosen to blame my father for this hideous GPA. I had chosen to blame my teachers for buying their teaching license on the internet. I blamed everyone else, but the one who was most guilty was looking back at me in the mirror. I had been the cause for this junky GPA. I had let all the events in my life get to me and expected that I would get my usual GPA by never doing work, never asking for help. I had isolated myself for a few months, I couldn't do homework
Persuasion is a process by which the persuader, through communication, gains the approval or support for the topic (Let's Compare Motivate and Persuade, 2013). The arguments to motivate this change in thinking comes through careful use of rhetoric, but one must also be able to define the six principles of persuasion in social psychology: “Reciprocity, Scarcity, Authority, Commitment and Consistency, Consensus, and Liking” (McLean, 2010, p. 521) and be able to recognize them as they are taking place. Then, one must carefully apply these concepts in order to find the means to effectively facilitate persuasion (p. 518).
The only reason that I missed my lab quiz was because I own a company named Loan Modification Relief Center. What we specialize in is saving clients from loosing their homes to foreclosure, sale dates and help put them in a better situation. On the day of the 2nd lab quiz, I had 3 clients that were about to loose their homes and I don’t pass that job on to anyone else simply because I have that old school mentality that if I don’t do it myself it wont get done right. Since my name is on the line with it being my company I am not willing to tarnish my name so I had to be there to make sure it happen correctly. I’m pleased to say that the time I missed away from school was not wasted on a lazy day or a personal day or just a day off. I was able to postpone the sale dates for all three clients homes. In all honesty I have straight For future reference I assure you that I will not be missing anymore classes, I have done my best to implement an alternative solutions to prevent this situation form occurring again in the future. A’s and I take my schooling very seri...
According to Merriam Webster, the term “ethical” can be defined as “rules of behavior based on ideas about what is morally good and bad.” Being able to differentiate between what is good, and what is bad is key when it comes to many things. One of these things includes persuasion. There are many concepts that can explain why certain principles of persuasion can be more ethical than others, and many that are critical to being an ethical communicator. Said concepts are explained in Rothwell’s text, In the Company of Others, Robert Cialdini and Steve Martins video, Science of Persuasion, and Stephen Carter’s text, Integrity.
I am writing this email to appeal me being put on academic probation. I believe that there was a factor of my education that the academic board has missed, and I wish to clarify what exactly it was.
To achieve my goal to complete my Associate’s Degree Human Services I know that I must increase my GPA to be in good standards with not only with J Sargeant Reynolds Community College and the being in good standing with the program curriculum also. I also understood that I had I cut back doing extra hours on the job to be more focused on my education and also my work schedule to work around my learning to be more focused on my learning. I also learned not to put too much pressure on myself on the school course work load so that I can succeed without cramming too much information in my
A persuasive speech is a specific type of speech in which the speaker has a goal of convincing the audience to accept his or her point of view. (Boundless, 2016). This kind of speech, therefore calls on the speaker to come up with ways that makes it possible to attain the positive conviction results. Persuasion is the force exerted to influence behavior that includes a reflected change in attitude. Everyday we are bombarded with messagesfrom people who wish to influence our behavior and attitudes. Persuasion canbe used to accomplish good as well as bad, though, in my paper I willrefrain from making value judgements and only report the factual aspects. I will discuss the two basic routes to persuasion, the elements involved, andways to protect current attitudes and behaviors from change. When trying to persuade someone, there are two different methods from which to choose-the central and peripheral routes. The central route persuades by usingdirect arguments and pertinent information. The peripheral route persuadespeople by association with incidental cues
The book, Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert B. Cialdini illustrates the implementation of reciprocation, commitment and consistency, social proof, liking, authority, and scarcity. The book identifies these six principles as weapons of influence in aiding with persuasion. The following explains and applies each principle.
