Can a sacrifice be a turning point in someone's life. Sacrifice can be hard for some people. It can be hard for people to give up things they love or need, but someone may need things more than you. Both characters made sacrifices in the story that changed people's lives. The sacrifice that was made in “Summer’s Trade” was very hard for Tony to go through with. This was very tough sacrifice because Tony had saved up all of his money to get a leather saddle to ride his pony. The reason that Tony made a sacrifice was because Tony’s grandmothers son in law had broken his leg and this was very bad because the wife didn’t have a job so they wouldn’t have any money to pay for bills or food and water. Tony's grandma solved this problem by pawning the bracelet she had since she was a child. Tony knew that his grandma didn’t want to pawn the bracelet, but she had to so her daughter and husband had money to live off of. Tony's grandmother became very ill so Tony knew what he had to do and bought …show more content…

Ling was perfectly fine because she got food but the lady behind her was the unlucky one because they had ran out of the food just as she got to the front of the line. Ling felt bad for the old lady Long thought to herself a little bit and came up with a conclusion that she was going to give the porridge to the elderly woman because she needed it more. After Ling brought the porridge to the woman the salesman came over to Ling and said that their was someone down the road who needed a babysitter. So Ling followed the man's instructions and became the babysitter for a wealthy family. And to top it all off the very wealthy family brought Ling's husband and child to come and live with Ling at their house. Ling got to be with her family and the wealthy family had a babysitter and they all lived happily ever
