(481) stress comes in two-forms first one is distress and eustress. although they both give you the same feeling of anxiety and being scared one side of stress actually can be fun. eustress is a pleasant and desirable type of stress that is healthful and keeps us engaged in situations. eustress are the stress you feel on a rollercoaster. your heart raises your plans sweat and your pupils dilate the only difference is you like it. the eustress gives you happiness and excitement. while eustress exhilarates you distress is the opposite, makes you want to run and hide. …show more content…

stress aids a cycle of anxiety and panic disorders. after being stressed for a long time it starts to build up on the amygdala, this is where fear is controlled in your brain. when the stress is building up it is making it larger and making its activity level higher also making more neural connections to the part of your brain making it feel impossible to not feel fear and anxiety. when your amygdala is being stretched out you can start to develop panic disorders. when having a panic attack you might feel some of these things; overwhelming anxiety and fear, heart is pounding you can not breath. some people describe it as if they were dying. panic disorders are not to be taken lightly, if they are left untreated for a long time they could lead to some serious social problems. some people develop it so bad they refuse to leave their house. stress also can be from a trauma that has happened in your life. traumas are a stressor outside that range of normal human experience, they would make almost everyone upset. trauma is someones life can lead to PTSD post traumatic stress disorder. PTSD can be cause by one or three things; natural disasters, accidents, or human malevolence. biological factors for depressing are genetics, neurological, chemical, and psychological components that may predispose, or put someone at risk for mood disorders. (533) a theory states that a defect in your genes can cause depression. they play a vital role in developing mood disorders because they are involved in regulating the brain’s neurotransmitters or chemical system used for communication. (533) with the neurological compost it is important to remember that an imbalance of neurotransmitters can interfere with the communication networks and in turn result in mood disorder. also continuos stress on the brain can lead to be in over drive and causes the levels of neurotransmitters and hormones to be off balance. (533) while the psychosocial factors for depression are, such as personality traits, cognitive styles, social supports, and the ability to deal with stressors, interact with predisposing biological factors to put one at risk for developing a mood disorder. (533) some ways of treating dysthymic disorder are, antidepressants, and psychotherapy. antidepressant drugs act by increasing the levels of a specific group of neurotransmitters like monamines, serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine are involved in the regulation of emotions and moods.(534) while psychotherapy is the combination between therapy and antidepressants. for patients with severe depression both of these methods
