The competing European colonies were, as it seems, not only competing with each other, but also competing against the Native tribes such as the Taino. The Tainos had very rich history and cultural and economic impacts that they could have helped the European people’s culture, much like how they helped enrich the author Robert Poole on their unique beliefs and ways of life. The Taino people invented the words canoes, hammocks, barbecue, tobacco, hurricane and Cuba after things that the Taino people had invented and encountered in their rich lifetime.
