Ethics is one of the most difficult topics to discuss. According to Merriam-Webster ethics are “an area of study that deals with ideas about what is good and bad behavior: a branch of philosophy dealing with what is morally right or wrong.” However, there are various definitions that are used for this particular word depending on the field of study that an individual is in. For instance, business ethics are primarily the study and examination of moral and social responsibility in relation to business practices and decision making. In addition, “a decision has to be rational in order to be ethical… morals is not part of the determination of an ethical decision.” (Hooker, p. 85) With this in mind, how can someone know if a decision is rational? For instance, each video deliberates a different topic that is relevant to today’s society. The first video is titled “What is Business Ethics?” The second one is “Five ways to Think Ethically.” The third one is “A View From the Audit Committee.” The fourth one is “Building an Ethical Business Culture Part 1.” Finally, the fifth video is called “The Legitimate Role of Whistleblowers in Organizations.”

The first video titled “What is Business Ethics?” defines both, ethics and business ethics. For instance, the speaker on the video goes into depth what ethics truly are. For example, he states that ethics is how an individual behaves and the standards one holds itself to. In addition, the speaker also states that ethics is not about feelings, consciousness, and not just about following the law. Finally, the speaker states that business ethics can be seen in three different levels; how one acts as an individual in business, how we structure our business organizations, and how we structure our business
