Overpopulation is a major problem that affects the environment by putting pressure on resources such as food, energy, and water. We can reduce human overpopulation by making birth control and family planning easily accessible, or even following China and regulating the amount of children a couple can have. If our population does not stop growing then we might have shortages of food and water which could lead to wars over clean drinking water.

Agricultural productivity helped in the cause of overpopulation because there was more food being grown so more people could be supported. More people could be supported because of there was more food being produced. Spreading awareness about overpopulation would probably be the most effective way to slow the population from rising. When there are more people that are aware of the overpopulation problem the higher the chance of us controlling the population and getting our population down to where it needs to be. First of all, when countries are overpopulated, the hardly have enough food to support themselves, never mind the hope of having a surplus to sell. Furthermore, when a country is overpopulated, there is a high rate of unemployment because there just aren’t enough jobs to support the population. This results in a high level of crime because the people will need to steal things in order to survive. In an attempt to save the people from the starvation, the government will most likely have to rely on foreign debt. This puts the country in debt at stretches the government’s already meagre
