Children living in poverty have significant effects on their development. Poverty begins to affect children’s cogitative development early on in the child’s life, reasons why it is noticeable at an early age is because they do not have the learning experiences they need before start attending school, causing them to fall behind, plus leaving them to be unsuccessful for the rest of their life. School readiness is the biggest factor in determining whether a child can escape from poverty or whether they will continue to struggle with learning throughout their life. Interventions during the early childhood could prevent some of these effects from occurring or influences their achievement. Poverty is the state of being very poor, unable to provide the daily needs for themselves along with the household. It is an extremely large problem in Canada, as well as various other countries, especially in third world countries. The paucity of poverty begins affecting children in their early years then increasingly worsens throughout their growth. The ability to use what has been taught in school has been a major effect that has caused numerous problems in trying to escape poverty. Economically poverty is the condition of not having enough funds to provide water, shelter, clothing and nutrients for them and the household.
