Tahir Shah, Travels With Myself One of the biggest decision I made in my life was to further my study far from my home country, far from my family, and far from my friends. It was August 15, 2014 I arrived here; a country where football is being play differently from the rest of the world. It took me 23 hours on flight to arrive at East Lansing from Malaysia and a total journey of 40 hours. The first time I arrived here, I was afraid of the new and strange environment that I see. There is a lot of different cultures between Malaysia and United States that I experienced: in term of education, in term of interaction, and in term of broad cultural differences. Education system in United States is very different from Malaysian’s education system in various aspects. Generally, everything about education in Malaysia is formal-- how we dress to school, how we interact with teachers, and how teaching and learning process take place. Students in Malaysia are required to use uniform when they are in school.
