Y.M. is currently in the Erikson’s developmental stage of Generativity versus Stagnation. According to Erikson, this developmental stage is primarily focused on working and being a parent. During this stage in life, the challenge for adults in their middle years is to be procreative and productive while overcoming personal stagnation (Potter & Perry, 2013).
