In Eleven, author Sandra Cisneros reveals a theme: Coming of age. Thus, this story is about Rachel expecting to feel eleven but she doesn’t. It makes her feel annoyed and irritated. But, the story takes place at school, in the classroom when Ms. Price claimed that ugly sweater was Rachel’s. The main character, Rachel, has a conflict when the teacher and she had an argument about a sweater that wasn’t hers. The author writes, “when you're eleven, you're also ten, and nine, and eight, and seven, and six, and five, and four, and three, and two, and one ”.
