Egypt, which is located in Northern Africa, has so much to offer and so much we can learn from. It’s history is very old and interesting. Most of Egypt's early history can be obtaines from reading the bible and goes back as far as 400 B.C. Their early writings called hieroglyphics have even been faud. There are many natural resources in Egypt, such as the Nile River, papyrus, and the many animals that live there. The Egyptians had many panting in the tombs. They also had many musicians and dancers who would perform at parties. Egypt has a lot of interesting history for us along with many fascinating natural resources and culture. The history of Egypt dates back to 400 B.C. In the history of Egypt, they made very tall buildings called pyramids where they would burry their kings who were called pharaohs. In Egypt they have different periods of time that have different names. The Predynatic period was from c. 5000-3100 B.C. and the Archaic period comes next which was from c. 3100-2686 B.C. Then comes the Old Kingdom period from c. 2686-2181 B.C. The Old Kingdom was when the Egyptians were making the pyramids. The Great Pyramid has more than 2 million stone blocks. The First Intermediate period comes next from c. 2181-255 B.C. Then it is the Middle Kingdom period which is from c. 2055-1786 B.C. Then comes the Second Intermediate period which is from c. 1786-1567 B.C. Then the New Kingdom period which is from c. 1567-1085 B.C. The Third Intermediate period was from c. 1085-664 B.C. The last period is the Late period which was from c. 664-332 B.C. In history there were many wars and invasions. One invasion in Egypt was recorded in A.D. 324 when the Romans took Egypt. The Romans also made the Egyptians turn to Christianity. In Egypt’s history there have been many changes along with new pharaohs. The pyramids were built long ago in their history but still stand today. The Nile River is a special part in Egypt not just for the water but also transportation, fishing, and using the mud from the river to make things. The culture in Egypt is exciting. They had many artists, musicians, and entertainers who would perform for parties. There is much we can learn from in Egypt’s history and its culture, and this is just the beginning for all of the exciting and interesting things in Egypt.
