Effective Training Summary

OptumRx Learning Services is dedicated to providing optimal training to our clients. The tremendous effort dedicated to achieving our mission is proven with a successful record of accomplishment including nearly 26,000 training hours annually. As the demand to provide optimal training increases, so does the need to expand our training resources and workforce. We introduce to you the Principles of Effective Training (POET) program.
The Principles of Effective Training program prepares OptumRx employees to assist Learning Services with training classes. Whether they are working with one of our Delivery Specialists or leading their own learning experiences, our POETs (Delivery Assistant or Certified Facilitator) play an important role in staff development.
The POET-Delivery Assistant provides support to the training environment in different ways including organizing activities, conducting review sessions, and co-facilitating the class. The POET-Certified Facilitator leads the facilitation of a training class in

Qualified applicants must complete an application and write an essay describing their passion for training. Applications are carefully reviewed by members of OptumRx Learning Services and, once selected, are invited to interview for the position. Once interviewed, selected candidates are invited to attend the two-day course to learn how to be a POET-Delivery Assistant. During the course, participants acquire the necessary skills to assist in the facilitation of a class in addition to receiving / providing feedback and performing administrative duties. The most important knowledge imparted to participants relates to adult learning methods. Participants learn how to convey materials to learners and assess learner retention to achieve maximum performance
