The United States is a free country. Some talk has been stirring in the U.S. over whether education should be a privilege or a right. In my opinion, I believe that education should be a right in the United States. Some of my thoughts on why I believe education should be a right is because the U.S. is a democracy so our education should be a right. Education helps people socialize and meet new people, and education helps students become prepared for the work force. In the U.S. we have a lot of freedom, laws and regulations, and rights; education should be one of them. Some people may want to get an excellent education and go far in life, but may not be able to afford it. Education should be offered to all classes of people and to people of all ages because someone could drop out, but then come back later and get their GED. If our education was a privilege, then someone may not be allowed to come back and finish their high school diploma, or their college education. The United States is a democracy. To be successful, we need all the knowledge we can get. No one just automatically knows how to pay bills, pay taxes, and to take out loans. That is why education should be a right, so we know how to tackle all the hardships that come at us during adulthood. Education helps us go through life easier. It makes everything flow smoothly if we know what to do. If we did not have any education about the real world, we would not be able to make it. In conclusion, education should most definitely be a right. Without it, we would have no clue as to what is going on. Very few people might get away without any education and become successful, but people that know and understand what they are doing may be more prone to becoming successful in life.
