One of the major strengths I believed were significant was when the author emphasis on the importance of consultation and collaboration and the role that each one play and how they work together for problem solving purposes. Some of the weaknesses, that I felt are important to point out was the significant amount of controversial opinions about collaboration and consultation and its effectiveness as a whole.
If I were to write a follow-up article, I would focus on the positive side of collaboration and consultation. In my personal opinion, they do play a significant role and serve its purpose when it comes to businesses that require their collaboration. The shared purpose of a client-agency collaborative process is to create successful plans, products, operations or creative materials to advance your mission. Whether for short-term or long-term purposes, I believe the outcomes will be better if the process is based on trust and

It is a privilege to interview veteran therapists who are exiting the counseling arena after a long career in the profession. I was honored to shadow Lea Keylon, a seasoned counselor, who on the eve of retirement set aside time for a student interview. The enlightening interview opened my understanding to the importance of proper diagnostic coding for insurance reimbursements, the financial struggles of private practice, and the poignant effect of forensic counseling on therapist (L. Keylon, personal communication, March 26, 2010). Lea was eager to share her counseling accounts; however, the excitement of retirement planning could be seen in her demeanor. Private practice requires self-discipline, constant research for legislative changes, peer support and consultation, time management, tenacity, and patience. The encounter with Lea impressed the importance to surround myself with colleagues that are enthusiastic about learning and continuing education opportunities, to hire assistance for time-consuming administrative task, and adequately assess a proper caseload that will sustain my counseling practice and without avoid counselor burn out (L. Keylon, personal communication, March 26, 2010).
Instructional Consultation is a consultee-centered, school based consultation process developed by Sylvia Rosenfield. IC addresses academic and behavioral problems of students by specifically targeting the teacher’s instruction; maximizing the academic fit or “match” between the student, task, and the instruction. The most prominent influence in IC’s theoretical background is Len Vygotsky’s notion that it is “impossible to evaluate the individual without also considering other significant people and institutions in the community” (Bjorklund, 2012, 77). This sociocultural theory emphasizes the role that adult (or more knowledgeable peer) interaction plays in a child’s development. In particular, Vygotsky posits that adult instruction is most effective when it comports with the child’s zone of proximal development (ZPD), the “potential development as determined through problem solving under adult guidance or in collaboration with more co...
My consulting vision is based on more than a decade of working as a continual improvement consultant, I have worked with a diverse client base and I have been able to identify my consulting passion. With a plethora of experience, focused on customer service, productivity, efficiency, and the corporate bottom line, I have developed a personal theory that has altered my consulting techniques. I was able to identify the impact my work had when I focused on improving the individual experiences of employees. By assessing the situation with a dynamic approach, I was able to identify each individual working within the organization in addition to the complexities that
Collaboration is people agreeing to work together (Homan, 2011). As we go through the process of collaborating, conflicts will arise however, during these times of conflict which will usually be based on people’s perceptions and feelings, this writer would bring knowledgeable information to the table based on facts. We would not dismiss the conflict however, work through it; which would include allowing people the opportunity to vent. However through the collaboration we would create a shared vision. Through leadership and advocacy we become change agents that are building a web of support. Through advocacy we will be the glue that binds the community together through human rights
This essay evaluates the counselling skills used during a 30 minute integrative counselling session with a male client aiming to combine strengths of person-centred theory, attachment theory and cognitive-behavioural therapy. It starts by offering a case formulation based on Padesky and Greenberger (1995), as well as Lazarus’ (1973) multimodal assessment template the BASIC ID (cited in Prochaska and Norcross, 2003, p.496), of a married young male client called Eric, who is suffering from anxiety and marital relationship problems triggered by unemployment and influenced by existing difficulties within the client's relationship to his mother.

The profession of counseling as a form of treatment focusing on emotional problems was practiced in a sort of informal way by advice and sharing information in the 19th century. Early counseling professionals called themselves teachers and social advocate (Gladding & Newsome, 2017). Their area of focus involved child welfare, education, employment guidance, and legal reform. In the early 1900s, three pioneers lead the way to the progress of counseling as a profession.
Working in the PRC with the various community partners made me learn to think in a collaborative approach about how to achieve goals; first, unite the goals, and second, reach them together. This collaborative approach will maximize the benefits for all parties and draw on everyone`s resources. It is important to note that in order to collaborate with others, patience and time are needed.
In this part of the assignment, I will be reviewing the strengths and weaknesses that were shown when I was using counselling skills on my client. I believe that there were more strengths when I was showing counselling skills compared to the weaknesses that there were.
With so many consulting firms offering services tailored to your business it seems it may take more time to decide on one company than it would for them to formulate a proposal. The decision is difficult because each one promises to devise a strategy that will take your company to the top of whatever industry you are in. These companies promise to save time, money and headaches. And offer services from data storage solutions to virus protection to vow to streamline your infrastructure. Two companies were reviewed for this essay: Accenture and EDUTECH consultations services. Regardless of what the websites say, one must be wary of over promising. Whatever company is chosen, get references and feedback from other customers to ensure your money is not going to waste.

A study performed in 1992, reported approximately 3,400,000 youth had failed to complete high school and were not enrolled in high school (Starr 1998). Many of these student lacked the support and training necessary to succeed in today’s society. Currently in every high school across the nation, there is a person responsible for offering support and training to the youth of America. Available for all students is a guidance counselor. Counselors within the high school setting play an influential role in the forming of post high school goals through the planning of numerous activities.
