Drinking age is one of the big issues in the whole wide world currently. Actually, People should make a connection between drinking cultures and ages, because there are a lot of different drinking cultures and it is definitely affecting drinking problems. Some countries are open minded towards drinking, but the others might not be.Countries such as Italy, China, Greece and Japan have its drinking age to be lower than 21, and they seem to have fewer alcohol related problems. Current law in terms of legal drinking age has caused more alcohol related deaths than there has ever been, but in my point of view setting the age limit for alcohol should be at least above age eighteen. It has been about three years since I came to the states to study, and during those times. I have met different kinds of people from different places. I learned that every single country has its own different facts. One of the biggest differences might be the drinking culture since each country has its own age limits. I have a friend who is from Japan and she was my best friend in the United States. I visited Japan during my summer vacation to go see her.Experiencing Japans own culture, I learned that it is very different to our own, based on honor and shame. Although they are able to smoke in front of older people, they are not allowed to drink with older people which is different from our country. They definitely observe the drinking proprieties. It seemed so different when I was drinking in Japan. Everything was unusual for me. Japanese people were to be drinking slowly as in their own tempo, and had control of their drinking limit. Also, no one waddles around in Japan at night. On the other hand, I am likely to hear the sound of “bomb shot” in any weekday evening in Seoul.The “bomb shot” is a favorite drink to throw away the stress.
