Reasoning is not enough in and of itself, it must be based on “data, information and evidence” (Foundation for Critical Thinking, 2007). The third step in Dr. Paul’s model of critical thinking is to collect the data present in the argument to solve the question at issue. Mr. Managadze’s email details his personal thoughts, beliefs and observations and how these ideas are in direct correlation of why he chose not to pursue his college degree with only two weeks left in the semester. The information presented by Mr. Managadze as evidence is as follows:
1. He describes how he has found his purpose and destiny in life through an understanding of how “leadership, happiness and fearlessness” work;

He defines emotions as either being love or anger and that there are no other emotions;
3. He defines fear as it relates to human beings, death and failure and purports that fear is just another lesson in life embedded in the aspects of the term fear;
4. He describes living life in the moment because it is the greatest gift and that people should not be restrained by what society believes is the best and righteous path;
5. He defines commitment as presented in Cortes’ attack on the Aztec empire by only having two choices either die trying or ensure your victory;
a. He further defines commitment to his task by explaining how the paths we take should be difficult and if it is not difficult it is not worth doing and how his commitment to the idea entrepreneurship will come to fruition even with the aspect of failures.
6. He believes that being fearless is more important that obtaining a college degree because a degree is an “escape plan” from what he truly desires in life;
7. Finally, in acknowledging the thought processes that led him to the conclusion of not completing his college career he ascertains to his parents that there would be no remedy or alternative action to his decision as he has already failed his exams, failed all of his classes for the semester and officially withdrew himself from the
