A collateral interview was conducted with Dr. John Jacobs, former marriage counselor. Dr. Jacobs reported that he worked with the two of them for three to four sessions. He indicated that he continued working with the mother intermittently after that. The problems were Stuart’s criticism and contempt towards his wife. He has rarely saw a husband be so damaging. The father stated that the mother was lazy, spoiled and a bad mother. As he tried to explore the reasons, they appeared to be crazy. The father stated that his wife was living in downtown apartment and would take the child for play dates uptown, he thought she was exposing the child to the elements. The father would become enraged with anything other than homemade cooking for the child. He felt that she was destroying the child’s life, and called her lazy. …show more content…

The clinician told dad after the November 2 session, dad had to control his criticism. The father viewed his son as a baby Jesus, exceptional perfect child who he needed to protect and give everything he wanted in life. The clinician stated that the dad was not reasonable and had to learn to listen. The clinician reported that the father was so nasty to the mother. He indicated that the father left and went to another therapist. Dr. Jacobs reported the parents ultimately saw Harold Koplewitcz, who also he found the father to be the same. Mr. Katzoff believes that he is right and no one else knows everything, he comes from a family of entitlement and is one of the most difficult man he has met. He insisted on spending 16 weekends every year going away and playing in golf tournaments (leaving the child with the mother). She spoke about the extent of his drinking.
