I love dogs but they do not belong in the workplace. Some people are scared of dogs no matter how big or small they are. There in no guarantee that all dogs will be trainied and well behaved. Dogs need extra attention, and the workers that bring their dogs will need extra breaks to care for them. Having dogs in the workplace would be bad for the company because there are to many unknown problems that could occur.
Some people are scared of dogs, Having them in the workplace could cause distress to coworkers. i know people that have had a bad experience with dogs in their past like being bit or jumped on making them anxious around dogs now. Companies are legally required to provide a safe and healthy work place and having a dog there could possibly create some physical or psychological distress or some employees, creating an unhealthy workplace.

Some dogs are not potty trained creating mess and odor in the workplace. Some dogs even nip or bite creating it unsafe for other workers or even other dogs brought by coworkers. Not all dogs are well behaved some will chew, that would be bad for office property, the company would have to replace or repair the items. JUst because a dog is well behaved at home switching them to a new environment around unfamiliar people is unpredictable. They may nip, whine, or even jump on a coworker.
Dogs need extra attention. If you bring your dog and he has to go outside that is an extra break that a coworker has to take. They also need to be watered and fed which could also take away more of the companies time, especially if they do not have them on a schedule. I think pets should not even be allowed to even be in a workplace due to the fact that some people are actually terrified of dogs and bring them into a workplace can cause a lot of problems. The only reason I feel this way is because of the fact that animals can be huge a distraction to the workers and customers, they will require a lot of attention like stopping to feed them, give them water, taking them to use the bathroom. Plus, not all dogs are good dogs, you have the nice dogs and the mean dogs, how can a person do their job if you see dogs running back and forth, barking, ETC. Another reason can be that some people suffer from allergies. You really can’t bring one if you work in a fast food restaurant. I fully understand if a person that has a physical disability.

Many previous studies have linked the presence of pets with less stress and better health. For example, in hospitals and nursing homes, animals have contributed to faster recovery from surgery, controlling blood pressure and depression levels of patients.
Dogs are being taken for granted, and people need to realize the importance of why they have dogs as pets. Dogs are more than lazy animals, dumb creatures, or ways of showing off to others. Dogs don’t help with social status, rather they help with companionship, loyalty, trust, and a bodyguard. In my opinion, dogs don’t help determine how poor or wealthy a family is. Maybe people spend lots or little money on a dog, but that just depends on what type of people they are, not what type the dog is. Nothing more, nothing less.

The handlers have to trust their dogs like any team does with a human partner. Once the dog alerts that something is there, the handler has to investigate further. The trainers need to establish a bond with the dog that will also become their family. At school’s for handlers and dogs to learn arson detections, they have simulated fire scenes, they learn how to locate and identify tiny drops of accelerants and the fuels used to start fires. Those schools also have challenges the handlers and their dogs face like wet grass, wet buildings, mud, ashes and burnt debris. With all sides of the argument considered I believe that dogs should not be allowed in the workplace. Dogs are unsanitary and many people are afraid of them. They may cause distractions and ultimately do more harm than good. Furthermore, when the dogs were at work with their owners, they would likely have no place to be kept and if they did it would likely be unsanitary. When their owner went to the restroom, to get food, or talk to a coworker, the dogs would be tied up, left alone, or taken with, all options of which do not sound very appealing.
The main reason why people should accept these dogs in school, is because the Americans with Disabilities Act, ADA, is an act that includes a part where dogs who are trained to help people with disabilities, are allowed into public spaces. School is considered a public space and the ADA considers service animals as important tools for people with disabilities.
Pit bulls should be allowed as pets due to the fact that they can be helpful. In World War 1 a pit bull named Stubby became very helpful. He saved an entire platoon by warning them of a poisonous gas attack. That proves that not all pit bulls are cruel and vicious and that some can even be helpful. Many people do not realize that pit bulls are not all bad and part of that reason is that the media over-reports attacks about pit bulls.

Animals on a college campus can pose many problems, however most of those issues can be solved with a little time and effort from those that feel strongly about the issue. Some people say “having a pet is not fair to the other people that are in the building because they may be allergic to dogs or are afraid of them.” An easy way to fix this issue would be to have couple dorm buildings that are specifically pet friendly. Colleges all over the world are starting to welcome pets in their dorm rooms and have created living spaces for students who want to bring their pets. These schools argue that allowing students to take their dog or cat to college allows them to take a little piece of home with them which makes the transition much easier. Schools could also invest in dog parks outside and pet friendly areas that students can take their pets to use the bathroom, similar to the way apartment complexes are set up. This would eliminate any problems that people have with allergies, being scared, or simply just not wanting to deal with dogs in their dorm building. Also, for those that want to live in the pet friendly dorm buildings there should be an extra fee for having a pet which would pay for extra maintenance in those dorm buildings and the pet friendly areas

Dogs are getting used more and more in our work environment. House dogs can also be considered a working dog depending on why the dog is there. There are many jobs for dogs. Dogs make a big impact on our working and social lives.
Having a dog as a pet help the owner stay connected with the social life. The owner needs to bring their pet go out for exercise, take the pet to visit the pet groomer and also having the veterinary checkups for their pet. All of these need the owner to communicate with others and involved themselves in the social activities.
