Does Romeo really love Juliet? Some may say no but others agree with no doubt. “To be or not to be, that is the question.” William Shakespeare was a very intelligent man. What we thought to be a love story actually had a deeper meaning than people usually think. When two families foil each other enough to make two kids rebel against their families wishes, don’t you think to stop the feud that had been going on for so long? When Romeo and Juliet would rather die than be apart. Do we call that love? I have to argue yes. There is no point of falling in love with someone if you don’t want to be together forever.
For my first reasoning I argue that Romeo went through a lot, all for just to be with Juliet. He took a risk just to even fall for her. Romeo was a Montague and Juliet was a Capulet. They were supposed to dislike one another but fate decided otherwise. (I. 5. 52-57) “This, by his voice, should be a Montague. Fetch me my rapier, boy. What, dares the slave come hither, cover'd with an antic face, to fleer and scorn at our solemnity?
