Do we fight to live or live to fight? It was a great day for my family. We were celebrating my aunt’s college graduation in March 2008. Her name is Yessica Reyes and was 28 years old, and had two kids: Gabriel and Yeina, my lovely cousins. We were so happy for her! Everybody wearing fancy and elegant outfits, taking a lot of pictures, and after the graduation ceremony we went out for dinner to finish celebrating. Everything seemed to be just perfect; the weather, the good vibe and happiness were in the ear. Finally, like at 11:00 pm we got home and were exhausted, but really happy. I was working by the time, and started my Monday as usually, full of work and stress. When I came home, my mom told me Yessica, my aunt, was no feeling good and went to the hospital. Jenny’s mom and my grandma have been friends all the time after all. Is it easy to be friend of the women that destroyed your marriage? I know is hard, but my grandma taught me is possible if you make it happens. Second, live your life and follow your dreams. Yessica has done so many things, sometimes I feel jealous. Even when mom thinks she should haven’t done all of this because of her health and life conditions, Yessica thinks she should be taking advantage of every day in her life, and keep planning, doing, enjoying and living. That’s what she has fought for! To live happily, enjoy her every second. I know my mom probably will get mad at me if she gets to read this history. Thanks God she does not speak or read English, but I agree with Yessica. Do we fight to live or live to fight?
