Divergent is all about identity and finding where you belong and where to fit in. Divergent takes place in a dystopian future society in which there are 5 factions that one must choose from or end up becoming ‘factionless’. ‘Factionless’ people are people who didn’t fit in the system, they have no identity, no places to live and the lowest social status.
The protagonist had a sense of bravery ever since she was a child which I believe makes here a great character. The scene where she was tested impressed me when the woman taking her test gave here extreme expression and began to panic telling the protagonist (Beatrice) to leave immediately and telling here to never share here results with anyone made me feel shocked.
In the choice room scene where Beatrice has to choose between the 5 factions while a large number of people is also choosing and the way to chose was to cut your hand with a knife that is next to 5 …show more content…

Then after they land on the roof they are told by the leader of the faction to jump off the building into a broken roof where a net lies below but no one is willing to jump. Beatrice jumps first and lands on the net. The guy operating the net picked her up, put her on the ground and then they had a cliché stare where someone meets their love interest and soon they will be making out. Beatrice is asked by the net man her name and for some reason Beatrice changed her name Tris on the spot and it made no sense what so ever. The net man’s name turned out to be four yes as in the number but its later reviled he got that name because he has 4 fears which is supposed to sound wise or something but it just sounds very
