There are many events that led to the American Revolutionary war. The American colonies fought for the crown during the French and Indian war. The king of England did nothing but tax the American colonies and did not allow them to colonize the western lands. Taxation without representation was one of the top three reasons why the American colonies revolted against the British. Although taxation without representation was a reason it was not the only one or the main reason. Events such as: The Boston Massacre, Crispus Attucks, and the Gaspee incident were the Revolutionary war’s genesis. The American colonies were tired of being treated unfairly, and it was finally time to fight back for the creation of an American nation. The Boston Massacre was a great example of the cruelty of the British. On March 5, 1770 a group of colonists were uprising against a group of British troops. The British did not take the rebels into custody but instead killed each one of the colonists that revolted. The Boston Massacre was known as the “Bloody Massacre” to the colonists because of the extent of the situation it created. Many of the colonists in Boston took this as an advantage to use against the British. Crispus Attucks is not the name of the event but the name of a person. An African American man who was the first causality of the American Revolution, even though the actual war hasn’t started yet. Attucks was a part of the Boston Massacre and was considered the leader or a leader of it. Some people looked at him as a hero for being as brave as he was standing up against the British. Other individuals viewed Attucks as a mad man just seeking attention and looking for trouble where none exist. Crispus Attucks was still a human being and did not deserve to be slaughtered by the
