The Big game! As we arrived at the softball field I could already smell the runny nacho cheese and buttered popcorn coming from the concession stand, but I also smelled victory coming. As we neared gametime my nerves kicked in and my adrenaline began pumping, my heart raced faster and faster as time closed in. As I started to get nervous I started to drop balls, make bad throws, and it was just what seemed like error, after error, after error. My coach pulled me aside to talk to me about it. He asked me” what was going on because this wasn't me?” I told him the truth and told him “I am very nervous” he politely said “That is normal, but there is no reason to worry. Do you and you will be fine! Just relax” after that I felt much better. After an hour of warm ups it was finally that time. Once again I began to have butterflies in my stomach, as repeats of my errors came to my brain, soon after replays of what my coach had told me before. The batter watched the first pitch go by “Strike!!!!” the umpire hollered. The batter also watched the second pitch go by and once again the umpire hollered “Strike!!!!”. There were now two strikes on the batter and if the batter got one more they were out! The third pitch felt like it took forever but finally the batter hit the ball! I scored and so did the runner that was on second! We had won the game! We were all so excited and tired at the same time! After the celebrating ended, the coaches and players sat down and talked about the game! We were all patiently awaiting to see who would get the game ball! The lucky person for this game was the kid who hit in the winning runs! I was a little bummed, but it was okay because there was always next
