In today’s busy world it can be hard to find the time to even think about one’s fitness, let alone actually do anything to maintain it. The average person has school, work, family, pets, and many more distractions in their life to ensure their fitness is left on the backburner. However, when the thought of exercise does eventually enter their mind, the thought that often comes forefront is that of the gym. The concept of a gym is simple, populate a building with the necessary equipment for a variety of physical activities, attracting people who want to get that perfect body or even just get back in shape. However, many people who have never frequented a gym often come up with a plethora of reasons not to go.

Past the entryway and through the doors that lead the greater part of the building lies a circular check in desk, with a smiling employee always ready to scan someone in. Past the check in desk, the building opens into a huge lobby, with couches, televisions, massive hexagonal glass ceiling and hallways that extend in every direction. All in various types of clothing that range from gym shorts and tank tops to yoga pants and shower caps; everyone was here for a different purpose. Whatever the purpose, people were determined to get it done. Simply standing in any of the main pathways was like standing the middle of a river with the current of people pushing past on all sides, eager to get their business underway.
This current of gym-goers leads deeper into the gym, past hallways with offices lining both sides of the wall. Eventually the hallways end at a staircase that ascends two stories to the top level of the building. This was the gym floor. There is a flurry of activity in every direction. Troves of people are running on treadmills, pedaling on ellipticals, and ascending Stairmasters in the cardio section that stretches out from the top of the staircase.
