The process of brushing your teeth is very important. It helps you keep your teeth clean and it’s healthy. It is a big part of life. The minimum is 2 minutes, 2 times a day. When you have braces, it is better to brush when you have already eaten so the food won’t get stuck in your teeth and it will remain clean. Many people get excited to get braces, but there is a lot of work into cleaning it in and out through every tooth and brace.

First gather all of your supplies, toothpaste, toothbrush, and floss. After gathering all your supplies, rinse your mouth with water so the loose food particles fall out. It is important to rinse because sometimes with braces food get stuck and we miss it when we brush so, when …show more content…

Place your toothbrush at a 45 degree angle to the gums. Start brushing gently back in front in gentle strokes. Make sure to brush between the wire and the teeth. You also want to make sure you brush outer, inner, and chewing surface. Brush your teeth thoroughly for 3 to 2 minutes. Then brush your tongue so that the bacteria is removed and it keeps your breath fresh.

After you have finished brushing your teeth for 2 or 3 minutes make sure to floss.
Flossing will help take out the food stuck in between the teeth and wires. Use waxed floss if possible. Use a size that can reach in your mouth and hands at the same time. Next thread the floss behind the wire. Push the floss between your teeth up and down, slowly pull out so you won’t cut your gums. You can also use a proxy brush to get extra cleaning.
