The American Dream to me is a dream that each person sets to achieve in the future that brings them happiness in life.My idea of what I would want of my American Dream would be to grow up, get a college degree in the occupation of my dream, and have a nice healthy family. According to Dictionary.com, the American Dream definition is either the ideals of freedom, equality, and opportunity traditionally held to be available to everyone in America, or the definition can be a life of personal happiness and material comfort as traditionally sought by individuals in the U.S.(“American Dream”) I personally agree with the second definition more than the first one. The Definition of “The American Dream” can depend on your current situation in life, such as: if you are poverty-stricken, your age, gender, your ethnicity, or even your religion. There are many obstacles that will happen while trying to succeed the “American Dream” but most all of the obstacles can be overcome. Remember, that there is going to be rough patches in life and you may think that you can’t get through it, but remember to always stay positive. Don’t let people bring you down, or influence you in any way. Giving up on the dream and not willing to work hard for the dream will not help you any way reach that goal. The “American Dream” can take you a long time so always remember that if you think it’s too late for this or that, it’s never too late for anything, always start small and work your way up to bigger and better things that will help you achieve your goal. Setting goals in life is very beneficial to you so that you have things to work hard for and things that you can look forward to in the future.
