The most common word for students in high school: homework. Overwhelmed every day by loads of homework given to them by their 6 teachers, some 7 teachers. Teenagers at the high school level see this more than at the junior high level. Bombarded by homework day after day, no time to do anything else. Homework leaves students with less sleep, fewer things to do, and takes time away from their family. One of the most important things for anyone's body includes sleep. Teenagers need more sleep than most. They hang out with friends, play at late games, work, and sometimes eat at family dinners or special occasions. Students stay up later for those occasions and on top of that, they need to finish their homework for the next day. One review in Chemistry I needed to complete took me almost all night. I couldn’t spend time with my family, and I couldn’t do anything with my sister. I couldn’t watch tv or eat a nice dinner, I scarfed it down quickly. This happened multiple times already in my high school career. Including Mr. Formsma’s essays we write: due at 11:59 on Friday. I think every family wants and should spend time together. My family and I spend a lot of time together and we like that. But a lot of the time when we want to watch Survivor as a family, I can’t because I need to finish my homework. We also like to play games together. Many times I can’t participate because I need to finish my homework or I run out of time, and I need to sleep. Homework helps students widen their horizon and practice things they need more help on. This way they feel ready for their test. Homework for some can act as a study tool. From this they achieve great success. But sometimes the homework given exceeds normal amounts and throws a wrench in family
