In the world today nearly 2.1 billion people have social media accounts. Take a look

around next time you are out in town and at least half the people will be on their phones. Social

media enables teenagers to communicate with people around them; yet it can cause failure in

social skills, risk of talking to strangers, and cyberbullying.

Social media allows family members to stay in contact through Facebooking, facetiming,

snapping,etc no matter how far away they live. It’s a way for people to be updated on

news,accidents, or even track down someone. A soldier can keep up with his loved ones by

video chatting. Even grandparents can keep up with their families by seeing pictures on

Usually teens don 't

tell their parents about the bullying. Cyberbully can lead up to suicide. Suicide is the third

leading cause of death among young people. Over fourteen percent of high school students

have considered suicide, and almost seven percent have attempted it. Teens can be very

brutally about what they say about other people, but posting it everywhere can keep them from

getting accepted to college universities. Teens go through a lot of depression especially by

getting bullied. Technology may be good for a classroom, by making learning come alive and

give teachers more options in their classrooms, it also can be harmful with kids having cellular

devices and taking sexually or disturbing pictures of someone then posting it.

Lastly Social media is good for young teens to learn how to do different stuff by using

Youtube for makeup tutorials or how to style their hair. It can also help people trying to get

back in shape what foods to eat or even exercising videos.

Although it can be a helpful hand when curious how to do something it also can give girls

the wrong impressions by having low self esteem because maybe they aren 't as pretty as the
