Creative Writing: The Big Game

“Ring...ring...ring…” Morgan’s phone went, early that Saturday morning as her teammates started texting her about the big game today. She obviously didn’t care about the game yet because she was still deciding whether or not she should get out of bed. But then, Morgan quickly glanced at her phone and walked into the kitchen to see her dad cooking her favorite before games, bacon and eggs. She sat at the table waiting for some food while her mom and brother were still asleep. Her father, Ryan, lifted his head to see Morgan getting her uniform out of the dryer before announcing, “The food is ready, Morgan!” with a smile on his face. Morgan's coach told her and her family they had happily won 6-0 for Morgan. She soon started asking questions about the game and as a team they answered them for her. But soon they had to leave because she was going to get a cast so it could heal. Approximately seven hours later they were allowed to leave that hospital and go home to their neighborhood hospital. Of course, her great teammates were there through the night with her. Her teammates started whispering and soon Morgan started hearing them say stuff like, “...she needs to get better or we will break.” or, “She has to get better soon and heal!” So then she started thinking about the future, and she asked herself When will I get better? What will happen to me when I start playing soccer again? Will my team need me?
“I’m finally home!”, Morgan said when she got to she her husky puppy, the next day. She was exhausted from trying out her crutches. So she took a nap while her Mom and Dad made lunch. When, Morgan woke up to her tingling tastebuds her parents told her that she would have to be on crutches for about three and a half months, but that sentence ruined her day. She knew now that she would have to rest and get away from soccer for about four months if she wanted to play again. Morgan also knew that this would be the some of the most boring months of her
