It all started when Rico and his friend Victor needed to cross the border and get into the United States so they could find work. The two friends were in the fields when the bad news struck them. Rico's parents found out that the US was selling corn for a lower price than Mexico was. This meant that Mexico and its citizens were losing their jobs and money rapidly and there was not a lot these two friends could do about it. Even though there was this problem, Rico got an idea. and it was to cross the border from Mexico to the United States. Victor first thought Rico was joking but was surprised to find out he was actually going to attempt to cross. His name was Miguel and was also trying to cross. He had lots of information on how to cross without getting caught so they tried one way. They chose to head to the mountains, find shelter, and find food.Then later, they would get out of there and cross. But unexpectedly, border patrol had found them and they had to run. They were low in the mountains and border patrol was in a helicopter. They were told to stop but didn't listen. When they approached the way to get out of the mountains, border patrol caught them. But Miguel was the only one arrested. Victor took all his stuff and ran away. Border patrol had lost him. After this Victor found a fisherman's truck and decided to hid in a toolbox in it. He locked himself in and when the fisherman went home Victor went too. At the fisherman's house, he opened the toolbox in his truck to find Victor in there. He called border patrol and Victor was arrested and sent to jail until he was sent back to Mexico. Victor was set free a month later. Coincidentally, he found his friend Rico right where he was deported back to Mexico near a gas station. They went to get some food and share their stories.
