Corn Galore
I chose this project because I want to be a plant scientist when I grow up and I wanted to help my dad with fertilizing his corn in the future. I wondered if cow manure, chicken manure, or no manure at all would produce more kernels on the ear. Now I’m going to tell you about cow manure, chicken manure, and plants. First I’m going to tell you about cow manure.
Composted cow manure makes garden plants grow great. It has rich strong fertilizer. Usually it is mixed in with the soil or put on top of the dirt. Sometimes if the fertilizer is too limited it cannot make the right amount of heat to get enough nutrients. Although if it is too big, it can't get air very well. In order to give the manure air, you have to turn the pile a lot.
A young college student named Todd Graves had a vision that he could open a restaurant and only sell high quality chicken finger meals. He proposed his vision to his college professor as a business plan assignment and got a very low grade on the assignment. Later, he went to many banks offering his business plan and each time he got denied. Todd then went on to work and raise his own money for his dream. This eventually led him to working in Alaska. After Todd got back from Alaska, he returned to Baton Rouge where he opened his dream restaurant. This restaurant is known as Raising Canes.
Corn, or maize, plays a vital role in many areas of the world today, and each location views and handles corn in a different way. How they manage corn can show small details about the area and culture as a whole. Not only is corn a staple today, it also had a huge presence in the ancient Native American’s lives; corn is sometimes revered as a deity and other times as a gift to the people from the Creator or a hero of the culture.
Justification of the Corn Laws The Corn Law was a potentially dangerous bill introduced in 1815 after three years of good harvests. It was instigated with the support of Lord Liverpool the current Prime Minister who saw the Corn Laws as a temporary measure to create stability in the agricultural sector in the immediate post-war years. The Corn Laws were potentially disastrous because they, along with the abolishment of Income tax and the creation of the Game laws, were seen as a return by the ultra -Tory's to a single-issue, single class government.
After the disillusionment following the 1832 Reform Act, British radicals were determined to make their voice heard in the next decade. As a matter of fact, the limited extension of franchise greatly disappointed the people in favour of reforms, and the protectionist attitude of the government was considered as a threat to both the British economy and the well-being of the working-class. In 1815, the Corn Laws had been implemented to regulate the prices of corn and protect the domestic production from the cheaper products of the continent. However, these measures were widely contested in the mid-nineteenth century because they stood for the old conservative England and were thought to be harmful to the development of the country. In a time of popular mobilisation and radical agitation, movements claiming the repeal of the
One of the best and most entertaining forms of education include movies, especially when it comes to history. Movies are extremely vivid stories but stories can be altered whilst travelling from one source to another. It’s important to discern the difference between the facts and fiction within a film. “The Cotton Club” presents 4 well known historical entities: Dutch Schultz, Owney Madden, Fayard and Harold Nicholas. The movie not being a biography has changed history in a very literal sense.
According to Steven Aitchison “Never give up on your dreams. The waiting can seem painful, but the regret of not going for it will be even more painful.” In other words readers learn that when you accomplish something it feels good, but when you don’t, you regret not working. In Wilson Rawls’ Where the Red Fern Grows, he develops the theme of never give up on your dreams and goals, fore you will regret.

As the class discussed in lecture, the myth created a personalized connection between the Native Americans and the Earth and allowed the Native Americans to identify with their landscape. Because they believed that corn came from recycled human flesh, they could see it as an animate, personalized being, rather than just an object. Merchant explains how the Native Americans also believed, because of the Corn Mother, that “the Earth would continue to regenerate the human body through the corn plant.” This shows that rather than just seeing corn as an object to cultivate, it was a sacred gift given to them by the land. Because the land gave the gift of corn to them, they believed the land should be treated with
Cornhole may look like a simple game, but if you’ve ever played the game before you know it’s far from simple. What may look like “throwing bags” to some is carefully placed bags with extreme precision to others. If not played correctly, Cornhole is a surefire way to make yourself look like a fool if you’re playing against a seasoned veteran.

Throughout the history of the human race there have been a great number of crops that were discovered, planted, and over time domesticated. Wheat in the Middle East, rice in Asia, and rye in Eastern Europe are all some of today’s staple crops that feed millions every day. Crops like these make up over 50% of the world’s total food supply. However, the third most eaten crop in the world is maize, or corn, which provides 21% of human nutrition. Today maize feeds millions across the world, but its history is different from the others.

One of the methods to recycle leftover foods was to produce soil fertilizer using a fermentation technology although it caused several problems due to its high saline concentration. Therefore, the best recycling method of food waste was to convert it into animal feed(Kim et al., 2011). Converting and recycling of leftover food into animal feed are very important because leftover food can contribute to not only decreasing import of feed ingredients but also decreasing environmental pollution (Yang et al., 2001).
