INTRODUCTION OF CONCEPTUAL PROJECT This contextual project work is the real life project. It is a practical activity where the student applies the concept to the current context of her personal life, social life, current job she is in and review relevant current research. Contextual project work makes student to learn by connecting to real world. This contextual project work is learning activities in real life in which the student can relate to by incorporating not only the content, the what, of learning but the reasons why that learning is important. CONCEPT.1, CONCEPT OF HEALTH AND ILLNESS This concept is taken from module 2.1 of public health nursing block 3 entitled “Health and Illness “ Every individual and in fact, in all communities have their own concept of health, which has some relationship with their culture. The oldest concept of health is “absence of disease”. Even now, maintenance of health is neglected except in conditions of ill health. It is only during the past few decades that health became conceived as a fundamental human right and a worldwide social goal; that is, it is essential to the satisfaction of basic human needs and improved quality of life. It is to be attained by all people. Health, wellness, and illness have many definitions and meaning. Nurses must be acquainted to these definitions and understand how they may be individualised to each patient. Defining health is difficult because each person has his or her own personal concept of health. The World Health Organisation (WHO) defines health as a “state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease or infirmity” Pender (1996) defines health as a state of being that people define in relation to their own value, personality, and
