The Regional Structure
The game is controlled at the local level, by 43 CountyFAsaffiliated
to The Football Association but with responsibilities for organising
and running football activities in their area.
A hierarchy of leagues operates throughout the game, each taking
responsibility for the administration of their own activities, such as
membership, fixtures and registrations.
Disciplinary matters (cautions, sending off and misconduct) are
controlled by The FA for the 6 top leagues (The FA Premier League,
Football Leagues , Football Conference and the three Conference feeder
leagues), with County FAs taking this responsibility at lower levels.
The FA Doping Control and Health Education Programme
· All tests are carried out randomly, however, there is provision in
the guidelines for The FA to 'target' a player if this is requested by
his club or P.F.A. and where there is significant evidence to do so.
· The Football Association works to a comprehensive set of Memoranda
and Procedural Guidelines. There is a very tight set of Guidelines,
Rules and Regulations covering this important area. In addition to
this, guidelines regarding disciplinary sanctions for offending
players have been formulated.
· The FA Doping Control Programme is carried out in conjunction with
the UK Sports Council Doping Control Unit.
· It is important to have an independent outside body rather than
totally control sample collection and selection of games as the
governing body.
· All matches, training sessions and players are randomly selected for
testing and at each visit two or three Independent Samplin...

competitions. I am keen to improve my standards as a footballer and I
train regularly with people my age and adults to. Training with adults
has made me a better player because it toughened me up and has made me
a more confident player. I train in Wilmslow with my club and school
and in Bramhall with adults.
The FA has helped me by creating leagues for me to play in on a Sunday
for my local team. It also provides small tournaments where I
experience others teams skill from further a field. Facilities like
football fields and Astroturf is also arranged by the FA. However I am
not receiving any sponsorship because I do not play at a high enough
level. It has helped me improve my level of skill by providing coaches
with qualifications who are prepared to help and arrange things such
as football matches.
Playing lacrosse in 6th grade made me want to play it now and in the future. Lacrosse in 6th grade made me like to run and love the sport everywhere I go. It made me want to play the sport now and in the future because it makes me think that I am being used in practices, games, and scrimmages. Lacrosse has helped me today by running faster in basketball, getting the ball lower in volleyball and getting the ball quicker in field hockey in gym class. Lacrosse has changed me as a person to work together on other sports on teams, work together in small or big groups on projects and say something positive to teammates on sports and for my friends.
During the 1950s the PE program was based on traditional programs which included movement exploration, rhythm and dance, games, sports skills, sports activities, stunts, tumbling, and swimming. The structure in PE changed dramatically with the increase interest in PE and more emphasis where put into place for schools to implement positive PE programs. By 1963, eight states required students to participate in PE programs daily. However, by 1965, a slowdown occurred in which schools wanted students to focus more on academic subjects more so than PE programs.
Ever since kindergarten, I have always been interested in physical education. Physical education (P.E) has always been my favorite class in school because that it has to do with physical exercise and being physically fit.
Right when I realized it is important for me to not just play for fun, I started to play less video games, and do more Baseball practices. My dad would always tell me it’s not good to play video games, because they cannot help you, but baseball can help you succeed in life. This really changed my view on what Baseball potentially has.
I met a shooting instructor named Jim Porter, he saw my hidden talent for shooting and soon became my coach. I fell in love with sporting clays. Sporting clays to me is so special and very emotional. It has given me a platform to meet people that I would never have met before. Shooting is an art form and it allows me to be creative with my athletic talents. The sport of shooting is all about responsibility, discipline, and focus. Shooting is not just pulling the trigger on a gun, it requires strong mentality. Being in this sport has changed the way I use my mind and think. I have trained my mind to become focused at any task I do, either mentally or physically. Shooting has made me become a much more responsible and mature young adult. I take my responsibilities very seriously and always put 110% of my
This topic paper discusses the book Teaching the Nuts and Bolts of Physical Education, which was published in 2008. The accompanying CD-ROM with sample lesson plans was not provided with the book. This book is really a guide to teaching 17 manipulative and 8 locomotor skills that children ages 5 to 12 will learn in physical education class. I will briefly discuss a couple of these skills with a suggested activity. This is a handy guide for a future physical education teacher. There are drawings and steps for each skill and key words or “cues” are also given. Finally, there are “troubleshooting” tips provided to use when a child is not performing the skill correctly and suggestions for practice activities to help children learn the skill. Truly this is a “nuts and bolts” book. It is really more of an instruction manual. I will begin with the skills taught in the book.

Volleyball and all the trials of playing it have molded my life. If I did not have bad coaches, I would not appreciate the great coach I have now and the coach that I had last year. Because I had to work with people I did not like, I am able to get along with a diverse range of personalities, now. Not being on a lot of good teams has made me work to win and appreciate when I do. If I had given up, I would not be the person I am
Throughout an educational discourse, inclusion is a highly debated subject throughout the curriculum. During the past decade, there have been exceptional levels of funding and resources solely aimed at physical education and school sport within the United Kingdom (UK). The DFE suggests that 57% of children with SEND attend a mainstream school (DfES 2007). Physical Education (PE) has been a rising topic of discussion due to decrease in activity and an increasing level of child obesity within the UK(Coates and Vickerman 2009). There are various implemented strategies such as Physical Education School Sport and Club Links (PESSCL) and Physical Education and Sports Strategy for Young People (PESSYP), which are instruments to ‘direct and guide practice and policies’ (Fitzgerald and Stride, 2012). Using these governmental strategies, schools try and challenge and attempt to increase participation and engagement with the aim of providing ‘high quality PE lessons’ (Griffin 2012), which targets the government initiative particular the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games to encourage an promote inclusive PE and school sport (Green 2009). Additionally, Fitzgerald and Stride (2012) distinguish on the concluding issue of inclusion should be recongised as part of a broader international concern to promote inclusive education (Forlin et al. 2008). There are various aspects, which are of high debate within inclusion regarding the national curriculum, initial teacher training and experiences of student and teachers.
As a bildungsroman, Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations presents the growth and development of Philip Pirrip, better known as Pip. Pip is both the main character in the story and the narrator, telling his tale many years after the events take place. Pip goes from being a young boy living in poverty in the marsh country of Kent, to being a gentleman of high status in London. Pip’s growth and maturation in Great Expectations lead him to realize that social status is in no way related to one’s real character.
Presents the results of a study on the effectiveness of computer-based integrated learning system (ILS) in schools in the United States. Subjects in which ILS is used; ILS' ability to track students' progress on learning activities; ILS' effectiveness in improving student learning; Underutilization of ILS in American schools; Potential of ILS to transform the classroom.
Ken Robinson, one of Time/Fortune/CNN’s ‘Principal Voices’ states, “The arts, sciences, humanities, physical education, languages, and maths all have equal and central contributions to make to a student's education” (“About Sir Ken Robinson”; Robinson and Aronica 247). While the main focus of a student’s education will often remain academics, physical education and the athleticism of a student plays a crucial role in the education of the student as a whole. Unfortunately, while research supports and advocates the significance of movement combined with educational experiences, many educational institutions do not require children to participate in physical education. Physical education, “instruction in the development and care of the body,”
Through my own experiences, and as enforced by others' opinions in the profession, I have found that teaching is one of the most rewarding careers. Not only are you placed in the position of instructing and guiding children and young adults through the life long learning process, but you are able to give back to the schools and communities which have supported your early education and experiences that opened you up to a bright future. In becoming an educator, I hope to someday share the knowledge and lend the helping, supportive hand that I was once given, allowing students to formulate their own perspectives of the multicultural society and world around them. Teaching is a career I have been interested in pursuing throughout high school, and as my experiences and study in the field expands, I feel that my desire to teach will grow stronger and develop more soundly.
A teaching philosophy is critical in my role as a future successful teacher. It will guide me in the way I conduct myself, how I develop curriculum, and how I establish order in my classroom. As a teacher it is important for me to be consistent with how I manage my classes. With a central philosophy as a backbone it will be easy to follow my own simple guidelines.
Teaching in the 21st Century has come about due to the realisation that the current education system has fallen behind the modern world, become outdated and ineffectual. We are over a decade into a Century which has brought forth an information age with limitless resources and instant access to information. Collaboration has turned global, with people all over the world communicating, sharing ideas and solving common issues through and with technology. The issue has become more so how to teach rather than what. Education in the 21st Century calls for personalising learning so that every learner, regardless of learning style, race, culture, creed or gender, may develop to their full potential and promote “life-long learning” (Collins, 2009, p. 104) for both teacher and learner alike. It also brings to light the importance of redefining the roles of both teacher and learner.
