George Frideric Handel was born on February 23, 1685 in Halle, Germany. George Frideric Handel had a passion for music even at an early age. At the age of seven he was a skilful performer on harpsichord and pipe organ. In his early years, up until he went to college, he had not yet composed a piece; rather he simply kept learning different types of instruments to play. George Handel was allowed to take lessons in musical composition and keyboard technique from a composer named Friedrich Wilhelm Zachow, an organist of the Liebfrauenkirche.When George was nine he started to compose his own music. George moved to Hamburg, Germany. George Handel got a job at the city’s famous opera house as second violinist and also played the harpsichord. In 1735 George Handel made the piece Concerto Grosso, it was originally supposed to be played as a trio of violins and violoncello. The music was first published in London by John Walsh in 1739. Concerto Grosso was written by George Handel style/ idea of the music was from Arcangelo Corelli. The piece Concerto Grosso Op.6 is originally supposed to be played by a trio or two violins and violoncello and ripieno four-part string orchestra with harpsichord continuo. George Frideric Handel also incorporated movement, such as rio sonatas, operatic arias, French overtures, Italian sinfonias, fugues, airs, themes and variations and a variety of dances, the concertos were composed of new material. His compositions span multiple genres, including vocal styles and orchestral. George Frideric Handel is the one responsible for creating and developing the English oratorio, for example Messiah is probably the most famous example. George traveled to Italy because the prince had heard of George Frideric Handel work and was very impressed by it. Georges goal was to learn and study from composers of Italy’s famous operas.
