"Wailing, for the world's wrong!" ( A Dirge). In this quote someone can see how the author feels about the way the Earth is treated and his strong emotions to the subject. In this essay a person will read about to the similar themes, the similar tones and the different setting of two texts. The two texts are "Plastic: A Toxic Love Story" by Susan Friekel and "A Dirge" by Percy Bysshe Shelley. The first paragraph well be theme followed but tone and last but not least setting. The essay is to give you knowledge of how similar the two texts are, so to start off the first paragraph is theme.

The theme of "Plastic: A Toxic Love Story" and "A Dirge" are very similar. Together they both share the theme of how the world is getting hurt by the things the humans are doing.There is evidence to support this as well, in the poem "A Dirge" the author states how the world is in pain, it's crying because of the trash and he explains how it is too sad the even sing. In " A Toxic Love Story" the author shows this theme by stating facts on how much trash is found in the water daily, also she shows how some people react to the trash and the ecosystem. In "A Toxic Love Story" by Susan(the author) has a more hopeful tone. The tone shows along the paragraphs, in the text it shows that if people become aware of the dangers the trash is doing, that maybe they can help and try to put a stop to it. However the tone in "A Dirge" is a little stronger than the other text. The author is extremely upset and hurt, so much that he personifies the world and how the world is "wailing" and how "Knells play all night long" because of the pain the world is in.
