Comparing Childhood vs Adulthood “As a child I assumed that when I reached adulthood, I would have grown-up thoughts.”- David Sedaris. The transition from a child to an adult could be a very intimidating time, this is because not only are people expected to know more but the increase of responsibility sometimes terrifies people. Many reasons on why some prefer childhood over their now adulthood varies on responsibility, the things people are required to know, and the the idea of having a parent or being a parent. First, Responsibility has a big effect in changing from a child to an adult. Beginning from the simple things like responsibilities in school, a child has to go to school because the parent says so and the parents are aware that they need to send the child to school and will make sure the child goes, but …show more content…

An adult has to know things like what to do in important situations, like where to go to pay something, know how to drive and have to know where things are located and where to find them. A child doesn't have to know much because the adult looks out for them. Also, the adult needs to do things like build credit and pay things off on time in order to buy things they need, which tends to put major pressure on the adult thinking of how they will pay everything. An adult is expected to know how to create relationships with others and form bonds with other adults, meanwhile this comes easy to a child because they can usually meet kids anywhere and communicate easily just by playing with them. An adult has difficult time keeping friends because they have a busy schedule to work around in order to have time and hang out or go with a friend somewhere.
