When thinking about the most famous and influential empire’s the world has ever seen, one's mind tends to stray to Rome. Rome was an immense influencer in religion, architecture and many things in between. It was like the older sibling empire, everyone wanted to be like Rome! Rome is often thought of as being the best of the best. Yet, there are many other empires that have contributed great things to society. And many of the things they created we still use today. However, Rome was a very important empire in the others development. Thus we see some similarities between things from government organization to everyday activities. One example of this instance would be, the violent rubber ball sport that often ended in death for some participants, versus gladiator fights, which also often times ended in death. These empires were crowded with people, and those people needed a way to get from place to place. One of the most important advances in Mesoamerican transportation was the Inca roads. These roads were very important for the Inca empires’ development and trading means. They helped the empire expand and helped to improve the quality of trade in the Inca empire The Inca roads could be considered a parallel to the canal connecting from the Nile river to the red sea that King Darius built. King Darius built these roads to connect trade routes in the Arabian Sea and the Persian Gulf to Egypt, and it was a successful try on his part. This canal was very important because, items that were to heavy or large to be traded by camel or land needed to be traded another way. Trading by sea would not have been nearly as efficient.
