Children, as well as people in general, sometimes feel powerless and that is when people look up to a certain figure to find their voice. Craig Kielburger and Malala Yousafzai became those certain figures. When Craig Kielburger was in his teen years, he resided in Canada, however he traveled often. Craig founded a group called “Free the Children,” in the hopes to eliminate all child labor and help exploited children to receive an education. Malala Yousafzai, also in her teen years, originally resided in Pakistan, and later moving to England, and was interested in women’s rights in education and equal treatment. Although, Malala was in the twenty-first century at the time. Malala’s life in the foreign country of Pakistan was harsh and apprehension filled, unlike Craig’s domestic and straightforward life. In Malala’s homeland, women were not given the rights they deserved. They were forced to be shrouded in clothing, they were not allowed to be independent and they did not have the privilege to gain a comprehensive education. This greatly disturbed Malala. Unlike Craig, Malala’s support of her encouraging family and culturistic beliefs, motivated her to make a difference. In the same way as Craig, Malala’s broad goal was for rights for children. In contrast, Malala’s specific focus was on education for younger females. Similarly like Craig, Malala’s cause and courageous actions were noticed, at first local then eventually global. On the path of liberation for all, Malala faced the situations of death threats and attempts of assassination, unlike Craig whose life was never put at risk. Malala is an extraordinary independent women, who is determined for women of all ages to get the rights they deserve. To conclude, Craig Kielburger and Malala Yousafzai have both contributed greatly towards the cause of equity for all. They are adamant and inspirational figures to people of all ages.
