The two movies are based around the holocaust and presents a different side of each story of the holocaust. “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas” provides a more accurate version of the holocaust showing all the pain and suffering people went through. Then “Life is Beautiful” gives a more pleasant and hopeful side to the holocaust providing some comedic relief. The setting is very different in both movies, but used in similar ways. In The Boy in The Striped Pajamas, a young boy named Bruno is friends with a child in a concentration camp, even though he knows he is not supposed to. In The Sneetches by Dr. Seuss, some of the Sneetches have stars and some do not. This leads to a lot of bullying, but in the end allows the Sneetches to realize that the way that someone looks does not matter. In The Harmonica, the young boy that is given a harmonica uses it to help many people feel better throughout the time of hate and intolerance. The boy plays for many people that live in a concentration camp. In The Whispering Town, many of the people overcome hate and intolerance by helping the Jewish people escape. The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and the many children’s books written about the Holocaust help overcome hate and intolerance in today’s world, so that something as awful as the Holocaust will never happen
The Holocaust was one of the darkest times in history. Both Night, by Elie Wiesel’s, and Roberto Begnini’s film Life is Beautiful, are set in the time period of the Holocaust. The Holocaust is portrayed very differently in the two pieces. Night has a much more serious tone. It tells how it really was. Life is Beautiful has a happier tone. It uses humor to explain what is happening. Night and Life is Beautiful are similar in the strong emphasis on the father-son bonds formed in each. Also, even though they were written in the same time period, the way that they portray the Holocaust is very different. Lastly, in each the boys are affected by what happened to Jews during the Holocaust. These pieces present themselves as powerfully magnificent and moving, but when it comes to the question of which is more effective in telling the story of the Holocaust, the answer is simple. Night.
Relationships can be a positive aspect in a person 's life. There are many significant attributes about relationships in the movie Rain Man by Ronald Bass that are comparable to the story Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. Both of these stories are good examples of how relationships teach people how to be supportive and accepting. These stories also teach us about how spending time with a person brings you closer together and how over time the characters in the two stories learn the true value of friendship. It is apparent through both of these stories that a considerable part of most relationships are made up of support for one another.
Having read the play “A Streetcar named Desire” by Tennessee Williams and watched the film “Blue Jasmine” directed by Woody Allen, I believe that Williams ‘ character Blanche deserves more sympathy than Allen’s character Jasmine. “A Streetcar Named Desire” and “Blue Jasmine” similarly tell the story of a socialite who faces an epic downfall in life. Woody Allen’s film manages to parallel Tennessee’s original “A Streetcar Named Desire” whilst adding a modern twist and subtle adaptations. Despite the similar experiences of the two characters, Blanche faces shame, embarrassment, and guilt to a greater extent compared to Jasmine and therefore is more deserving of our sympathy.
The confusion between “wants” and “needs” is greatly displayed in the movie, “Blue Jasmine” and the book, “A Streetcar Named Desire”. Both main characters, Jasmine and Blanche, have lived lives almost the same as the other but if compared, Blanche has lived worse therefore, she deserves my sympathy.
Imagine a tall slim man dressed in a very respectable iron pressed suit, with a tie that’s perfect length and fits nicely with the colors of his blazer. To go along with his suit, he carries a very affluent briefcase with a matching belt and shoes. This is the typical perception from students of someone that works in the legal profession, including the consumption of time spent on only work along with having a very stern look. However, a look at how it’s shown in the film To Kill a Mockingbird, it shows that things like standing for justice, having integrity, and being family-oriented plays a huge role in the lives of lawyers.
Although the book and the movie are based on the same story, there are many differences, but there are also many similarities. In the book, Hannah goes into a dream and time travels back to the concentration camps. She is transformed into Aunt Eva’s friend, Chaya, back in the concentration camps. She survives the harsh conditions. Her friend, Rivka, is getting taken to the gas chambers, when she takes her spot, and dies for her. But, in the movie, released in 1999, it is slightly different. Hannah time travels back to the concentration camps. She meets her cousin, Rivka, and becomes friends with her. She takes Rivka’s place and goes into the gas chamber for her. In both, Hannah is a generous friend and the Holocaust should be remembered forever.
The movie and the book were both appreciable and they illustrated how important remembering is. I personally liked the book better because it had more details and I liked the characters better. I liked Gertrude and Aaron. I would recommend this book to 8th graders around the world because it fits their age. They need to know that remembering the past is essential and that the Holocaust did not just happen to Jews. Always remember, and never, EVER,
In both the play and the movie you learn that it is important to enjoy what you have, because it could get much worse, and that if you spend enough time around strangers, you will eventually become close to them. You also learn about what the holocaust and how millions of innocents were killed, which is important to know about so that hopefully nothing like it ever happens again. Although the way that the story is told and even some actions and dialogue is different between the play and the movies they are still the same story and share the same life

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is by far the best historical fiction novel I have ever read. In the end, it just makes me happy that times have changed, for the better.
The treatment of Jews in this time period was abhorrent. The mere fact that Jews were placed into a death camp and exterminated was sufficient. In the film “The boy in the striped pajamas”, a moral issue arises in Germany in World War ll. This film reveals the racial discrimination and prejudice the Jewish people faced. Bruno who is an eight year old boy, is distraught after he learns that he has to leave his current home in Berlin to a new home in Auschwitz due to his father’s promotion to a Nazi commandant of a death camp. Arriving at their new home in Auschwitz, Bruno is lonely with no friends. From his bedroom window, he notices people in stripped pajamas behind a fence. In both genres, Hannah still goes back in time and experiences life in the camps. Aunt Eva is still the same person. The theme in both is about remembering what had happened. Jane Yolen and the director of the film are both jewish. They both want us to remember that the atrocity of the holocaust was real and something that should be studied so we will not make the mistake of prosecuting a person because of their religion again.
In Kate Chopin's "The Story of an Hour," the main character is a woman who has been controlled and conformed to the norms of society. Louise Mallard has apparently given her entire life to assuring her husband's happiness while forfeiting her own. This truth is also apparent in Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House. In this story, Nora Helmer has also given her life to a man who has very little concern for her feelings or beliefs. Both of these characters live very lonely lives, and both have a desire to find out who they really are and also what they are capable of becoming. Although the characters of Nora and Louise are very much alike in many ways, their personalities differ greatly when it comes to making decisions regarding the direction of their lives.

He and his dad sustain one another; however, when Elie is faced with reality his faith in God diminishes. Similarly in the movie “Life is Beautiful” (2000), there is a strong bond between father and son as they endure the horrors of the Holocaust. The movie follows the story of a young Joshua and how his father, Guido, uses humor to protect his innocence. In the novel Night and in the movie “Life is Beautiful,” the Holocaust is portrayed both similarly and differently through God’s provision, self preservation, and the father/son relationship.
