Survival, to not die by meeting specific needs of your body. People survive by eating food and using resources near them. This essay will compare two different survival stories that happened in World War II. Anne Frank and Krystyna both hid throughout the war and both survive in similar, but different ways. To begin with: Anne Frank was a 13 year old girl who hid with her family and another family in a office building. The Franks, Otto, Edith, Margot, and Anne, were one of the families that hid in the secret annex. They went to the Annex to get away from the Nazi’s after Margot got called to a labor camp. Later, Peter, Hermann and Auguste Van Daan came to join them and Fritz Pfeffer (Mr. Dussel) after them. The annex was a very small space they had to live in. Krystyna is a 7 year old Jewish girl who survived the Holocaust. Krystyna hid with her parents and brother in the sewers. She, with everyone else from the ghetto stayed down there for 14 years. Since people want to be quiet when her 3 year old brother was crying someone pointed a gun to his face. That is how Krystyna survived the Holocaust. Next, Anne Frank and Krystyna’s stories had several similarities. They were both hiding from the Nazis because they were Jewish. Also they both hid with their families and got through the war together. Another one is that they both had helpers. The office workers helped Anne and the Sewer workers helped Krystyna. One the other hand, these stories were also different in many ways. One was that Krystyna hid with many people, about 30, while Anne only lived with 8. The other difference is that Krystyna and all her family survived, but Anne’s father was the only one to survive in Anne’s family. Those are the similarities and
