Common Ground At School

I am writing this letter today to explain my situation and hopefully find some common ground with the school about the exact reasons my grades were so poor last year. Before coming to Mason, I was an honor student who had never even failed a course let alone obtained a lower ranking grade such as a D. The real reason I struggled this past semester was because of health issues that bogged me down and presented me with the challenge of being able to attend class regularly and participate at an efficient output with my school work. From about late October time all the way to the Spring my body was at war with itself dealing with walking pneumonia.
