This movie contains an assortment of quality life lessons of morality, family, giving, love, hardship, faith, humility and responsibility. The morality of this movie is as stated, “Selfish hoarding leads to a miserable life; but Sacrificial giving leads to a wonderful life” (Williams). George Bailey is a loyal, honest man but becomes desperate after a financial crisis has hit. He is consumed by depression and suicidal thoughts. As he tries to leave his family, community and life behind an angel, Clarence, shows him what life would be without him. Nothing would be the same. Friends would not remember him, his brother would have died in the accident where George saved him, his children would not be alive, his wife would not have married, his community would suffer from corruption and poverty; life would be completely different without him. His willingness, his sacrifices, his love built a wonderful life, through this, George was able to see the permanent impact he made on his community. He was able to finally see the bigger picture. The importance of family, giving, faith, responsibility and love. These lessons that George learned through his experience continues to change and impact the lives of individuals who watch the movie. Great acting from James Harris, Donna Reed, Lionel Barrymore, Henry Travers, Ward Bond and many more led the film to success. James Harris (George Bailey) was a perfect pick to play the role of a desperate, businessman his honesty and vulnerability helped portray his character as George Bailey. Henry Travers (Clarence Oddbody) also was a perfect cast to play the role of the positive, caring angel. James was able to show a great love interest in not only Donna Reed (Mary Bailey) but also Henry Travers (Clarence).
